Explore the Full Sapaw Rule Set
In Tongits Sapaw, each player is dealt twelve cards, with the remaining deck forming the draw pile. On your turn you draw, form melds — sets of three or more matching ranks or sequences in the same suit — and discard. The sapaw rule lets you place your own valid meld directly on top of an opponent's laid-down meld, taking control of
those cards and forcing a point recalculation. A player can call a fight at any point, triggering a final count of unmatched card values. The hand with the lowest unmatched total wins. Knowing when to sapaw, and when to hold your meld in hand, is what separates careful play from reckless moves.
